First period

A concerned dad here. My almost 11 year old had what I thought was her first period. Some blood on the toilet paper after wiping. We got some pads and less than 24hrs later it seems to have stopped... this seems to quick? Is it? Can she stop wearing the pad now? Will she start bleeding again soon... Was it maybe not a period?
