im 15 years old and i started my period when i was around 11/12. they’ve always been pretty regular, well, i got them within the same week or so every month. i know irregular periods are normal for the first few years and every few months i would miss a period but it never concerned me. fast forward to last year, my periods became more irregular and started coming less often, i didnt have a period from july-september, well i got it for one day in july but barely. they also started becoming alot lighter and eventually started being only 4 days long. i will also add that in march 2023, i had extreme pain in my stomach, could barely walk but insisted i will still go to school, despite my mum telling me to stay home, i ended up going home 10 minutes into the day. i got an ultrasound and it ended up being an ovarian cyst rupture. couldn’t walk for a week. again in may, i felt the same pain while hanging up posters and i went to the ER, as my doctor told me to do if it happens again. they didn’t do an ultrasound or anything but just told me if it feels the same, it’s probably a cyst rupture and sent me home. that’s when my periods started becoming light and lasting not as long until they disappeared completely. i haven’t had a period since january this year. i will also add that i am not sexually active, i was diagnosed with a thyroid disorder and vitamin d deficiency in 2020 but a more recent blood test said my thyroid levels are good and i have no idea about the deficiency, i also have low iron and my doctor did suspect pcos but told me they had no way of testing me because i was too young. submitted by /u/ilovepastaaa_
