Sharing my experience

Just wanted to share my experience with my breast ultrasound in case anyone is searching for some reassurance.

I found two lumps in my breast, one of the left side and one of the right side. The one on the right was about the size of a gumball and very squishy & mobile. The one on the left side was a little more firm but still moveable, I’d say around the same size. I immediately freaked out, I just had a baby and was the thought of having breast cancer was terrifying. I made an appointment to see my doctor, who suggested an ultrasound. I was so scared.

Fast forward to today, the day of my ultrasound. I checked in, was given a heated gown to put on then sat in a “gowned waiting room” while waiting for the tech to come get me. Once I was in the ultrasound room a wedge was put behind my back to ensure good quality images and the correct posture to see the lumps. It was a super quick process, she took a few pictures on each side. Afterwards she went to show the pictures to the radiologist.

The doctor came in and told me everything looked completely NORMAL. It was just fatty tissue. But since I had been feeling my breasts at different stages of my cycle, things felt lumpy and abnormal.

This is your sign that even though it can be a super scary process and not everyone has a story like mine to not be scared to go get things checked out! The peace of mind is so so important. I was stressing myself sick. submitted by /u/FaithlessnessIcy8606
