I'm 37 and have had two babies. My periods have always been regular and in the medium/lighter side.
The past two years this has not been the case. I have started flooding, passing large masses of tissue and having extremely irregular periods.
This month I have had three periods with a ten day gap between.
I also have mild cervical ectroption, where some cells are growing where they shouldn't. It's apparently benign, and causes mild spotting. Which I am separating out from my actual period cycles.
My doctor keeps telling me this is a veryation on "normal", and it's my "new normal". Her solution was suggestion a coil be fitted, which I don't want. It could make things worse, and isn't really getting to the bottom of things. Maybe it's perinenopause, though I have no other symptoms. Could it be thyroid, or a hormone issue?
The worst is the irregularity and seemingly having a period every other week. It's exhausting.
Im in the UK, so my options are to speak to a different GP, but theyre being so unhelpful. They do not offer any hormone testing. What could be causing it, and is there a way to find a solution? submitted by /u/Royal-Addition-6321
