TMI question ahead, but I need answers and my doctor only told me to schedule an appointment with an OB and didn’t provide anything else:
a week and a half ago, my boyfriend and I had sex (protected, and I am on oral birth control). I noticed a slight pain in the right side of my pelvic area, where I imagine the ovary to be. I had noticed a slight pain other times we had sex but didn’t think anything of it. However after that I started having discharge that lasted for a little over a week, from the end of that week and ending this past weekend. The discharge was brown, old blood and had some clotting. One day there was fresh blood and I thought it was my period, which was due this past weekend, but no fresh blood came after that. I took a pregnancy test today and got a result of not pregnant, and I’m not feeling any other pregnancy-related symptoms otherwise. I have a family history of uterine issues such as uterine fibroids, dyspareunia in the past, and endometriosis. I haven’t had a missed period in years and was also concerned that it could be from stress.
I wrote my doctor last week with the info above and she basically said “you need to schedule an appointment to have this looked at” with nothing else. which is understandable, but with the holiday season coming I haven’t scheduled an appointment yet and am nervous about when it would be, so I wanted to ask here for guidance. thank you in advance!
