Allergic reaction?

I had candidiasis a few days ago and I treated it with some medication I had been prescribed for previously for when I have it. But today, I felt a lot of inchyness on the exterior of my vulva, I ended up scratching it. When I looked at it, one of the inner lips was completely swollen. I panicked and looked up online how to reduce the swelling, I used a cold wet towel. Eventually most of the swelling went down along with the redness. Was this a normal allergic reaction? And has this happened to anyone before? I just want to make sure before I contact my gyno again for help.
