Severe Cramping, bleeding, nausea, headaches, feeling like passing out

Hi! So a little backstory, I got my kyleena iud inserted about a month ago now. It’s my first Iud ever. For the most part it’s been pretty good but I have had pretty mild cramping and bleeding alongside nausea.

Last night my partner and I had unprotected sex. During sex, he pointed out a lump, he said it’s been there for a while. On top of that, the cramps were at an all time high. I couldn’t sleep. I woke up the next morning and the cramps were at the same level as when i got inserted, blood was flowing out of my body, i was so nauseous and lightheaded. I tried taking a hot bath but It didn’t help. I called the number that gives you medical advice from a nurse (i live in canada) they told me there is a possibility of the iud being misplaced and i needed to go in to the er.

When I saw the doctor he immediately wanted to an ultrasound to see that my iud was in place, it was! They then did an exam to try and find my lump and i found it. I tried to show him where it was. He then tried to find it for about 30 sec and gave up.

After he said that all the symptoms and the placement of the bump sound like it could a bartholin cyst but it isn’t bad enough at this time to do anything about it. He just gave me anti nausea and heavy pain meds.

I’m happy with this but I almost feel like something is seriously wrong. I’ve always had horrible cramps but not like this. When the cramps were at the worst it felt like they were extending to my butt. I’m also appearing quite pale.

I need some advice! Have any of you experienced something like this? What did you do? What was it? I’m so lost at what to do rn

Also, just want to say I am very happy with the doctor and I feel as though my concerns were properly addressed. I have heard horror stories about doctors not taking cramps seriously. I am so thankful that wasn’t the case for me!
