So for the past few years- about 5, I’ve had excruciating period pain, about once or twice a year and it’s always on day 2 of my period. After doctors dismissing me at first. I decided that these episodes are not normal and started going to the er more for them. So just to be clear, I start with some cramps and then the cramps turn into back pain where I can’t stand up straight and then the nausea and vomiting from the pain start acting up and the next thing you know I’m having hot and cold flashes / sweats and vomiting for at least 6 hours straight, all while writhing in pain. Utterly miserable and so uncomfortable cause my uterus just feels like it’s an alien trying make its way through me. Anyway I think I was up to vomiting like 18-20 times. Couldn’t keep anything down, so no pain killers or gravol either.
I’ve had ultrasounds and an mri and all they show are small fibroids. So this rules out endo or a cyst rupture apparently. This last time I thought it might be a possible torsion because my flow slowed to a halt but they did an internal ultrasound and they still didn’t see / find anything.
I’m extremely exhausted by all of this. I feel like it’s affecting so much of my life. I used to be more active and I’m scared that I’m doing something to trigger these attacks. I also had to quit my job because it was happening while i was at work sometimes and it’s such an awkward thing for an employer to have to deal with.
Anyway I just got home from the er and wanted to ask if anyone has any insights into what this could be or what else I could do to figure this out? Like I said before, I just had an internal ultrasound today while I was in pain and having this episode, but had an MRI in February while was in no pain. I also weirdly enough keep getting them in June, of every year. And it’s usually the left side of my ovary that feels sore/ tender to touch
