I (20F) am known to occasionally have an irregular cycle, but for the most part my period always comes and I end up having 12 periods a year, lasting 5-7 days each. To my surprise, I skipped a period in May completely.
I don’t remember exactly when I started bleeding. I know it was before June 11th, because I got my 2 bottom wisdom teeth taken out on that day. I remember thinking “lucky me,” seeing a bit of brownish blood a day or so before the surgery, and also thinking I was going to start my period but the unpredictable brown spotting just continued. I spotted for around 15 days up until June 25th, when I actually started my period—fresh red blood and clotting.
It hasn’t seemed to slow down, in fact, today, July 5th has honestly been the worst day. The second day is usually the worst for me. The amount of pads that I have soaked through today alone had to have been at least one per 2 hours, give or take. The clotting is excessive and out of control this time around too.
I am not and have never been on birth control or any kind. I am not sexually active either. I have a doctors appointment scheduled for this upcoming week, but I’m just wondering:
What could this be?
