I went today to get a follow up on my 2nd IUD insertion (transvaginal ultrasound). I was surprised by the finding of a large cyst (8cm). I haven't noticed any symptoms or pain, but I am now super anxious because I've never had something like this. I also had NO expectation of something like this.
My doctor originally seemed not to be too concerned. She said it would likely go away on its own or it might rupture - which would be painful for 1-2 days. She advised me what to look for and when to go to an ER.
However, an hour after I left she personally called me back and wants me back for another ultrasound in mid-July. She said it is hard to tell if it is connected to an ovary (and my ovaries look fine) so she wants to follow up and see if she can get a better idea of where it is coming from.. I have super bad health anxiety so this is.... really messing with me. I feel so hyperaware of my body and while I know I can't really feel the cyst I am *AWARE* now if that makes sense.
Has anyone else been in a similar situation? Any comfort you can provide? I am panicked lol submitted by /u/Momoreau
