Cross posting from a different sub just to get as much advice as I can.
I’ve had awful periods since I was 13 (heavy bleeding, cramps that put me on the floor, etc). I had no idea I had endometriosis until I had an emergency appendectomy in April and the pathology report came back as endometrial tissue on my appendix.
After that, I ended up having a trans-vaginal ultrasound that showed endometriosis in both ovaries. Per the doctor, however, the sites aren’t really large enough to indicate surgery to remove them. They put me on birth control pills, which gave me a raging migraine. I spent a week feeling like I was going to vomit and/or have my head explode before I got an appointment to talk about changing to a different pill.
I was on that one for 5 months, then stopped taking it after my last period about a month ago because I didn’t like how it made me feel. I was still getting migraines at least a few times a month (although thank god not constant like the first time) and I was so emotional I felt like I was losing my mind.
I started my period about two days ago and while the cramps weren’t bad after the first day, the bleeding has been insane and I’ve been having clots the size of quarters.
I don’t really want an IUD because I’ve heard so many bad stories about insertions and having to have them removed because the pain didn’t go away, but I’m kind of at a loss on what else to do. Life was tolerable before we tried to make the endo “better”, but I’m afraid of what else it might affect if I go back to leaving it alone.
Really just need whatever advice and/or personal experience I can get here. TIA 💜
