It's hard for me to get wet during sex with my bf but not during short hangs out

I know vaginal wetness can be caused by birth control, I've been on enskye for about 2-3 months. But during sex it's really hard for me to get wet/stay wet even though I'm horny. But when I see my bf after work, or for a few hours in the day and we makeout (no sex just seeing eachother) I get wet very easily. I'm comfortable with him but I'm just confused as to why during intercourse it's so hard. He's good at foreplay and starting things slow for me to get more horny but it's just hard for me. We constantly have to use lube and I feel embarrassed. Is this normal, any advice?
