Vagina pain

Hi everyone, I’m a 23-year-old female, and I’ve been struggling with a vaginal pain issue for a few years now.

The first time I experienced this was back in 2021 or 2022, after I was diagnosed with Ureaplasma. I got treated and felt completely fine afterward. But ever since then, I’ve had random flare-ups of pain that come and go — and doctors can never find anything wrong.

These flare-ups feel like: • Burning, raw, stabbing vaginal pain • Tissue discomfort • Soreness that makes walking uncomfortable • And a general feeling like something is wrong — even though all my tests say otherwise

Usually the pain lasts about 1–2 weeks, then disappears for months. For example, the last time I had a flare-up was in November 2023, and then I was totally fine until April 14th, 2025 of this year — and this one hasn’t gone away since. It’s now May, and this is officially the longest and worst flare-up I’ve ever had.

I’ve been tested for Ureaplasma, Mycoplasma, STDs — everything — and it always comes back negative. But the pain is very real, and it’s starting to scare me. I’ve had multiple doctors say “everything looks fine” and send me home, even though I’m in agony and often feel like crying from the discomfort.

I’m planning to get into a specialist for pelvic care or nerve pain, because this is affecting my life way too much. I’m grateful that the pain isn’t constant all year, but the fact that it keeps coming back without answers is draining. I just want to understand why it’s happening at all — and why it started after that first Ureaplasma infection years ago. I do have a few other issues that has nerve pain related to them as well that I don’t want to discuss . But that’s ruled out right now as well . And this was happening before then .

If anyone has experienced something like this — especially nerve pain or vulvodynia after an infection — I’d really appreciate hearing your story or any advice.
