what could be causing soreness on my labia majora on both sides of my vagina?

i brought it up to my obgyn before and she didn’t know but gave me a pelvic exam and during the exam i didn’t really feel pain so she didn’t think anything of it but for days after i was so sore it hurt to walk.

it always seems to be sore to the left and right of my vagina where hair grows but not my actual vagina. it gets worse around my period
